Our history
The Mission for the Development of Artisanal Maritime Fishing (MIDEPECAM) has had major dates that have marked its career.
September 9, 1977
MIDEPECAM was created by Decree No. 77/363 of September 9, 1977 signed by President AHMADOU AHIDJO as a Public Establishment of an Industrial and Commercial nature endowed with legal personality and financial autonomy. It is placed under the supervision of the Minister in charge of Maritime Fisheries and its headquarters are in Douala.
1977
Appointment of Dr EPEE NGOUBE as the very first Director of MIDEPECAM.
1992
Appointment of Mr. Isaac BILLE as Director of MIDEPECAM. Position he held until 2012.
1984
Departure of Canadian aid workers whose country was the main funder of MIDEPECAM when it was created.
1994
Halving of the purchasing power of MIDEPECAM following the devaluation of the CFA Franc in January 1994.
MIDEPECAM is deprived of all tax advantages relating to imports following the implementation of the provisions of tax and customs reform in the CEMAC zone (former UDEAC).
May 20, 2000
Signature of the first State / MIDEPECAM plan contract for the rehabilitation of MIDEPECAM. Agreement which extended over three (3) years to the tune of FCFA 500,000,000.
May 18 to 21, 2011
Pre-diagnostic mission carried out within MIDEPECAM.
2004
Signature of the amendment to the plan contract (2000-2003) between the State and MIDEPECAM for its restructuring. The legal form of Société à Capital Public (SCP) was adopted to bring the company’s organic texts into conformity with the provisions of Law No. 99/016 of December 22, 1999 on the general statute of public establishments and companies. of the public and parapublic sector.
Opening of new agencies in EDEA, LIMBE, KRIBI and BAMUSSO.
2012
Appointment of Dr TAMBI Sammy AKO as Director of MIDEPECAM. Position he occupies to this day.
June 2014
Development of a restructuring plan at the end of a pre-diagnostic mission carried out within the company marked by the signing of a new Contract plan between the State of Cameroon and MIDEPECAM for the period from 2015 to 2018 in order to effectively relaunch the company’s activities.
March 2, 2015
Signature by the Minister of Finance of decisions N ° 00000084 / MINFI / SG / CTR of 02 March 2015 establishing the monitoring committee for the execution of the State / MIDEPECAM plan contract.
Jully 2014
Signature of the second State / MIDEPECAM plan contract for the restructuring of MIDEPECAM, for a period of 3 years.

MIDEPECAM is aligned as a 5th category public company, according to decree No. 0201 / MINFI of 04 May 2020.
